Forgot what that was like for a while. Interesting reminder.
I appreciate those of you that stuck around. Will try to hold up my end of the bargain, details* below.
I also appreciate those of you just arriving, for this, the next chapter of this particular journey.
Friday was my last day in government service.
We'll talk about it in depth in another ramble, once I figure out how to write about it.
I will say this: I was honored to have contributed - even for a short while - alongside so many men and women who make me proud to be an American.
The reason I left was not over any policy, person or outcome. I met some phenomenal people, working very hard to keep the country safe and move it forward.
No, I left to get back into the dialogue about what it all means, and what to do next.
I’ve had a lot of conversations about “what are you going to do next?” and the only real answer I can give at this time is:
It's time to go West. It’s time to go home. It's time to see my wife. It's time to get back to writing. It's time to start the engine.
